WANA (May 19) – Iran’s Foreign Minister emphasized that dialogue between Iran and the United States can play an effective role in promoting peace, stability, and calm in the region. He noted that regional countries support such negotiations and are even working to resolve existing misunderstandings and bring viewpoints closer together.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the second and final day of the Tehran Dialogue Forum, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said: “The level of interest and participation by foreign thinkers, guests, and officials in the Tehran Dialogue Forum was extraordinary. This event was a very valuable experience for us, demonstrating that Tehran can serve as a hub for regional and international dialogue. Over the past two days, 50 discussions were held in various formats, including speeches, one-on-one conversations, and panel debates.”

Referring to the high-level participation in the forum, Araghchi stated: “Six foreign ministers from the region, two senior officials, numerous deputy foreign ministers, as well as former ministers and former presidents took part in this round of the forum. Since the opening session yesterday, I’ve had continuous meetings.”

Araghchi added that Iran-U.S. negotiations were among the topics discussed during the meetings. “We had an in-depth conversation with the Foreign Minister of Oman about the continuation of the talks, and the Foreign Minister of Qatar also joined us. He shared his views and ideas during a trilateral meeting. I’m very pleased to see that the regional perspective—especially in the Persian Gulf—towards Iran has significantly changed compared to the past. This is evident in their positive attitude towards Iran–U.S. talks.”

He emphasized, “The fact that regional countries not only support the negotiations but also seek to resolve misunderstandings and bridge differences is significant. Peace and stability in the region are of paramount importance to all countries involved.”

The top Iranian diplomat concluded: “We believe that Iran–U.S. dialogue can have a meaningful impact on fostering peace, stability, and calm in the region—and regional countries are cooperating in this effort.”

Araghchi further added: “Diplomacy is our chosen path, and the 14th government places great importance on neighborhood policy. We will continue on this course through dialogue, negotiations, and diplomacy.”
